Open Representative Programme 2023

The 2023 Representative Team Policies and Procedures document contains the full information on the Representative Programme. 

Player Eligibility:

  • Be in the relevant age-group of the team they are trialing for. Players cannot play in an older or younger age group.
    • Players must be age 18 (born 2004) or above as at 01 January in the year of the representative season
  • Be financial to both Club and HCNC.
  • Be registered on the HCNC Intention to Trial Player list

Trial Information

It is compulsory to attend all trials:

  • Trial #1: Monday 26th June 2023; Venue: Waikato Diocesan Gymnasium [Martin Street Entrance] 
    • Registration Open: 6:15pm-6.30pm
    • Trial: 6.30pm-8:30pm 
  • Trial #2: Wednesday 28th June 2023; Venue: Waikato Diocesan Gymnasium [Martin Street Entrance]
    • Registration Open: 6:15pm-6.30pm
    • Trial: 6.30pm-8:30pm 
  • All Players are required to attend all trials unless prior dispensation arranged

Open Representative: Commitments

Tournament Information:

  • Hamilton City Netball Centre Open Representative Tournament:
  • Date: Sunday 6th August 2023
  • Venue: The Peak, Rototuna High School, Kimbrae Drive, Hamilton

Netball New Zeland Open Champs 

  • The Edgar Centre, Dunedin: Tuesday 5th - Saturday 9th September, 2023
    • Leave Monday 4th September, and returning Sunday 10th September.

Introducing our Open Representative Programme Coach for 2023

Rebecca Gabel
Open Coach

Rebecca is currently Assistant Coach for Waikato Bay of Plenty SHNL Team. She is an experienced coach, having coached all levels of netball including Secondary School, Premier Club, Age Group Reps, Open Grade Reps, Aotearoa Māori Secondary Schools Team and the WaiBop Beko side.  

Rebecca works as a Resource Teacher of Learning and Behaviour, and in her spare time enjoys being with her whānau and being at the beach. 

Rebecca was a massive part of a very successful Open’s Campaign in 2022, where the Hamilton City Netball team placed Runners Up at Netball NZ Open Champs. Rebecca is excited to continue to develop the amazing talent we have here within the Hamilton City Netball Centre.
