NZ Theory is an online test.  All umpires who want to work towards completing a Netball NZ New Zealand Award will need to register in a NZ Theory Umpire Course.

Please note: Umpires from ANY CENTRE MAY ATTEND these sessions.

NZ Theory Registration Includes:

• 6 tutoring sessions of 2 hours 
• Netball New Zealand; NZ theory exam registration - All information on this test will be covered in our NZ Theory tutoring classes.  
• Coaching by HCNC Umpire coaches for up to 2 seasons
• Assigned a mentor
• Free participation in HCNC Fitness Testing.

Prerequisites:

• Zone Award

To Complete NZ Theory:

• Pass mark for Netball NZ New Zealand Theory Exam

• Session 2: 18th June
• Session 3: 25th June
• Session 4: 2nd July
• Session 5: 6th August
• Session 6: 13th August
• NZ Theory Exam -  19th August 2024

Once you have achieved your NZ Theory you can work towards completing a NZ C Award.  All umpires wanting to work towards their NZ C Award will need to register in the NZ Award Pathway Programme.

• Free participation in Fitness Tests

Prerequisites:

• NZ Theory

To Complete a NZ C Award and above:

• Your assigned mentor will explain to you and guide you through the process of gaining your NZ C and above Award, which can be different to previous awards.
• Screening by assessors

• Practical assessment on a NZUDG approved game
• Netball NZ administers the completion of the NZ C Award.
