Fitness Testing

Umpires must have high physical fitness to perform their duties. Umpires who hold a New Zealand Umpire Award have earned the right to wear the Netball New Zealand logo and are representing Netball New Zealand.

Representing a national organisation comes with a responsibility to uphold the high standards of the award. Netball New Zealand have minimum fitness standards for the various levels of netball as follows.

If you wish to see where you are at come down and get tested.

Cost: $10 per test or FREE for registered Hamilton City Pathway Umpires

Dates for Fitness Testing

Whilst there may appear to be less of a need to undertake the formal annual fitness tests required for tournaments and to maintain Umpire Awards because of COVID - 19 and the postponement of 2020 tournaments.  Umpires are encouraged to keep active and plan their physical preparation for Netball to aid their transition back to umpiring and in the interests of reducing the risk of injury.

We will still be offering an unformal form of fitness testing at Hamilton City Netball Centre
