Summer Double Up League has the following Grades:

  • Open Grade - minimum of 15 years old.
  • Open Mixed - minimum of 13 years old. No minimum or maximum gender per team or on court.
  • Secondary - Year 9-13.

Open Grade

Day: Mondays

Time: From 6 pm

Length: 8 weeks

Starting on: 17th February 2025

Finishing on: 7th April 2025

Registrations Close: 10th February 2025

Cost: $200 per team

Grades: A, B, and Social.

Open Grade Specific Rules: 

  • Players need to be a minimum of 15 years of age to participate.
  • Secondary Senior School teams can enter into any grade.
  • No Injury Time.
Open Mixed

Day: Mondays

Time: From 6 pm

Length: 8 weeks

Starting on: 17th February 2025

Finishing on: 7th April 2025

Registrations Close: 10th February 2025

Cost: $200 per team

Grades: Mixed

Mixed Specific Rules: 

  • No minimum or maximum gender per team or on court.
  • Players need to be a minimum of 13 years of age to participate.
  • Secondary School teams can enter into any grade.
  • All teams will play under World Netball Rules
  • All Hamilton City Netball Centre policies and procedures will be adhered to. These are available on the website (www.netballhamilton.org.nz)
  • Rolling subs permitted
  • No injury time
Secondary

Day: Wednesdays 

Time:  From 5pm

Length: 8 weeks

Starting on: 19th February 2025

Finishing on: 9th April 2025

Registrations Close: 10th February 2025

Cost: $175 per team

Grades: 

  • Secondary Senior - Competitive and Social
  • Year 10 - Competitive and Social
  • Year 9 - Competitive and Social
  • Mixed - Competitive and Social (Teams can have Year 9-13 players, no limits to male and females on court at one time)

Secondary Specific Rules: 

  • Players need to be a minimum of 13 years of age to participate
  • Players need to play in the Year they are enrolled at school.
  • No Injury Time.
Games Format

Format of Games: 

Teams will play two x 20-minute games each night.  Games will be back-to-back. Each game will have 10-minute halves with 2-minute break and 8 minutes between games.

Rules: 

  • All teams will play under World Netball Rules
  • All Hamilton City Netball Centre policies and procedures will be adhered to. These are available on the website (www.netballhamilton.org.nz)
  • Rolling subs permitted
  • No injury time 
  • If the game is called off for any reason, and both teams agree to stop the game, the score will be as is, at stoppage.  If one team agrees to continue and the other team does not, the default will be given to the team who does not want to continue playing.

Points: Due to the Double-Up Leagues being Social Grades, scorecards will be issued, however, scores and points will not be published.

Umpires: 

Each team is asked to provide an umpire who will manage their team’s games.

Gear: 

A uniform is NOT required but bibs of the same colour must be worn by all team members. Teams are to supply their own bibs.

Teams are to provide a match ball.

Invoicing:

Once registrations close, teams will be approved and invoices sent to Team/Club Managers via email. 

The structure of grades could change, depending on how many teams register e.g., Teams could play one x 40-minute game each night.  Each game will have 4 x 10-minute quarters (10, 2 quarter time break, 10, 3 min half time break, 10, 2 10).

Note: Leagues/Grades could be combined, or cancelled due to lack of team registrations.
