You may have seen on TV or courtside at ANZ and NNL games two of our talented umpires, Tania Fink and Wids Wirihana. Both umpires can be seen in action on Thursday nights at The Peak for our Premier Indoor Competition.

We are so lucky to have these umpires in our Centre. They are great role models for our other umpires to look up to. Both are quick to share knowledge and help others and obviously have a passion for our sport.

Tania Fink

  • Selected by World Netball to officiate at for the Oceania Regional Netball World Cup 2023 Qualifiers taking place in Suva, Fiji from the 16th to the 23rd July 2022.
  • ANZ Premiership Umpire
  • International Talent Identified (ITID) Umpire

Tania is born and bred in Hamilton starting her netball umpire journey at Hamilton City Netball Centre. She has worked her way towards the National Talent ID program and eventually being selected as part of the National Umpiring Squad (ANZ Premiership Umpires). She had time away from Hamilton while attending University in Auckland, completing her doctorate. After a brief time away creating a family, Tania returned to the court in 2020 and has become a fixture on our televisions officiating in the ANZ Championship Netball Competition.

Wids Wirihana

  • NNL Final 2022 – Reserve Umpire
  • NNZ National Umpire Squad Member

Wids is born and bred in Huntly with allegiance to both Hamilton City Netball Centre and Eastern Waikato Netball Centre. He was selected for the National Talent ID Watch List Squad in 2018. Whilst Wids strives for higher honours in education, where he is pursuing a career in Teaching, the same can be said for his involvement in netball where Wids was elevated from the Watch List Squad to the National Umpire Squad this year.
