At Year 5 & 6, players are introduced to Umpire's. The players are still learning the rules of netball so as part of the futureFERNS programme, we introduce one rule each week for the players to focus on. This allows the players to learn the rules one at a time and in an environment where everyone is learning the same rules. 

Below are PDF's about the rule of the week. These include an explanation about the rule and the umpire hand signals. Please note, at this level, umpires DO NOT have to use hand signals. The players and umpires may still be learning the rule so it's very important that the umpire checks for understanding from the player before implementing hand signals.
