Open; Mixed, Secondary; Intermediate

Dates: TBC

Format of Games:

 Teams will play one x 32-minute game each night.

4 x 8 min quarters (2 min break between first-second and third-fourth quarters), 3 min half time.

Teams to change end after each quarter.

 Quarter times can be flexible, depending on ability and skill.

 Note: Competitions/Grades could be combined or cancelled due to lack of team registrations. Each grade must have a minimum of 6 teams with a maximum of 12 registered to compete.

 Rules: 

  • All teams will play under World Netball Rules
  • All Hamilton City Netball Centre policies and procedures will be adhered to. These are available on the website (www.netballhamilton.org.nz
  • If the game is called off due to serious injury, the game could be moved to another free court.
  • If the game is called off for injury/foul play etc, and both teams agree to stop the game, the score will be as is, at stoppage. If one team agrees to continue and the other team does not, the default will be given to the team who does not want to continue playing.
  • Rolling subs permitted
  • No injury time

Scoring:

Inner goal circle = 1 point

Outside of goal circle = 3 points

Umpires: 

Each team is asked to provide an umpire who will manage their team’s games.

Gear: 

A uniform is NOT required but bibs of the same colour must be worn by all team members. Teams are to supply their own bibs.

 Teams are to provide a match ball.

Once registrations close, teams will be approved, and invoices sent to Team/Club Managers via email.

Open and Mixed Grade

Day: Thursday

Time: From 6 pm

Length: 6 weeks

Cost: $120 per team

Grades: Competitive, Social.

Open Grade Specific Rules: 

  • Players need to be a minimum of 15 years of age to participate.
  • Secondary Senior School teams (Year 11-13) can enter any grade.

Mixed Specific Rules: 

  • Players need to be a minimum of 13 years of age to participate.
  • Teams can be made up of men and women, or just women.
  • Secondary School teams can enter any grade.
  • Only three males are allowed on the court at all times, the positioning must be 1 male in each third of the court - 1 in Defence Circle, 1 in Mid Court, 1 in Shooting Circle.
Secondary and Intermediate Grade

Day: Thursday

Length: 6 weeks

Cost: $100 per team

Secondary School Grades: 

  • Senior Year 11-13
  • Junior Year 9-10
  • Mixed Year 9-13

  • Players need to be a minimum of 13 years of age or Year 9 to participate
  • Players need to play in the Year they are enrolled at school.

Mixed Specific Rules: 

  • Teams can be made up of boys and girls, or just girls.
  • Only three males are allowed on the court at all times, the positioning must be 1 male in each third of the court - 1 in Defence Circle, 1 in Mid Court, 1 in Shooting Circle.

Intermediate School Grades:  

  • Year 7 - Competitive & Social
  • Year 8 - Competitive & Social

Intermediate Specific Rules: 

  • Players need to play in the Year they are enrolled at school.
